Student Protection Scheme
Tuition Fees Insurance
- inlingua Singapore is participating in a 'Student Protection Scheme' which is required by the Singapore Government to protect the consumer rights of foreign students.
- Every overseas student studying with us, and applying for a Student Pass, will be given insurance to protect the tuition fees they pay.
- Fees are normally non-refundable. Tuition fees could, however, be refunded under certain conditions (e.g. If you did not get the course you applied for, of if the school were to stop providing training courses).
- If you do not complete your course because of no fault of the school (you have regularly failed tests or have been expelled for truancy, or other misdemeanour), it will not be the school's responsibility and fees will not be refunded.
- A copy of the 'Master Insurance Policy' can be obtained at Reception.
Benefits for Student Pass Holders
- Your tuition fees will be refunded if you cannot start or complete your course because the school stops operating.
- You will be compensated under the terms of the insurance policy if you suffer a serious accident resulting in permanent physical disability or loss of life.
Certificate of Student Insurance
- You can ask for your 'Certificate of Student Insurance'. This will state the course start and end date and the tuition fee amount insured. This is the amount you could claim, if the school were to stop providing training courses.
- The insurance cover is for the duration of your course.
- You must pay your fees 4 weeks before the commencement of your course. The school will then obtain your Certificate of Insurance and apply for your Student Pass.
- Please keep safe your 'OSEF Payment Acknowledgement Letter' (or fees receipt). The School will keep your 'Certificate of Student Insurance' safely.
Standard Student Contract
- From 1 September 2005, all overseas students must sign a 'Standard Student Contract' with the School. (This contract is a legal contract that specifies under what circumstances there can be refunds and which items are refundable). Local students who want tuition fees insurance should send an email to request for a contract.
- Please also refer to the School's 'Refund Policy' and 'Policy for Complaints'.
- Standard Student Contract - please print out. You must sign page 10. For children under 21, parents must sign too.
