Formal Policy for Withdrawal / Refund / Postponement
There is No Deposit
- Course participants should pay a S$400
Part Payment to book a place on a programme and, if necessary, a S$214 Student Pass Handling Fee.
- You should pay the balance of the
programme fees 4 weeks before the programme start date.
Withdrawal from Programme and Conditions for Refund
- Course participants may withdraw from
their programmes by giving acceptable reasons in writing to our
Operations Director.
- Acceptable reasons for withdrawing and
obtaining a refund are listed as follows:
- inlingua does not start your
programme on the planned start date.
- inlingua does not end your
programme on the planned end date.
- inlingua stops your programme
in the middle.
- inlingua has breached the Standard
Student Contract given to you.
- Course participant suffers an
accident resulting in a permanent physical disability.
- After approval by the Operations
Director, the refund will normally be made within 2 weeks. Any costs,
e.g. lessons already attended, weeks spent at homestay, bank charges,
breakages, Student Pass expenses, etc..., will be deducted from the refunded
amount.
- There will be no refund in the event of
acts of God, e.g. natural disaster.
- Please note that hotel and hostel
charges are not our responsibility.
Withdrawal from Programme for other Reasons (Frivolous / Non-Frivolous)
- Course participants may withdraw from
their programme by writing to our Operations Director.
- If notice of withdrawal is received on
the start date or after the start of the course, no refund
will be given.
- If notice of withdrawal is received 21
days or less before the start of the course, no refund will be
given.
- If notice of withdrawal is received more
than 21 days before the start of the course, a 100% refund will
be given, less costs (e.g. bank charges and exchange rate losses).
- Fees are normally non-refundable.
If you do not complete your course because of no fault of the school (you
have regularly failed tests or have been expelled for truancy, or other
misdemeanour), it will not be the School's responsibility and fees will not
be refunded.
Postponement for Other Reasons (Frivolous / Non-Frivolous)
- If you were booked to start a course on
a particular start date and you postponed the course 4 weeks or less before
the start date, there will be no refund.
- The School will decide on a
case-by-case basis whether you will be allowed to join another course at a
later date.
Cancellation of Student Pass and Refund of Immigration Security Deposit
- After you have completed your course,
you can ask for a refund of your S$1,000, S$1,500 or S$5,000 Immigration
Security Deposit.
- Please go to Reception and fill in the
form 'Request for Refund of Student Pass Security Deposit'. You
must fill it in properly or your refund will be delayed.
- Your Student Pass card, flight number
and departure time should be handed in at Reception. We will then
cancel your Student Pass.
- The Immigration Security Deposit is
usually refunded 4 to 8 weeks after you have left Singapore.
- If the method of refund is bank
transfer, your bank may deduct bank charges (usually S$20, but sometimes up
to S$150). There may also be exchange rate losses.
- If you have damaged school or homestay
property, the cost of replacement or repair may be deducted from your
Immigration Security Deposit.
